Frequently Asked Questions

Which barcode format should I choose?
CODE128 is recommended for general products, EAN-13 for international product codes, and CODE39 for industrial use.
What is QR code error correction level?
Higher error correction (H) allows the QR code to be read even when damaged, but increases size. H (30%) is generally recommended.
Can I use the generated barcodes commercially?
Yes, all barcodes and QR codes generated on BaQord are free for commercial use.
How many can I generate at once?
There's no limit. However, downloading a PDF with many codes may take some time.
What is the minimum size for printing barcodes?
For barcodes, minimum height of 15mm and width of 25mm is recommended. QR codes should be at least 2cm x 2cm for reliable smartphone scanning.
How is the EAN-13 checksum calculated?
The 13th digit of EAN-13 is the checksum. In BaQord, you can enter 12 digits for automatic checksum calculation, or enter all 13 digits directly.
Why won't my barcode scan?
Common causes include size being too small, insufficient quiet zone margins, poor print quality, or insufficient color contrast. Try printing in black+white at a larger size.
Can I add a logo to my QR code?
Thanks to error correction, QR codes can be read even with a logo in the center. Keep the logo under 30% of the total QR code size and use error correction level H.
What's the difference between barcodes and QR codes?
Barcodes (1D) store data horizontally only, up to about 20-25 characters. QR codes (2D) use both dimensions to store 4,000+ characters and have damage recovery features.
Can I edit a generated barcode?
Barcodes are generated based on input data, so modifying the data creates a new barcode. You cannot edit existing barcodes; you must generate new ones.
What's the difference between 'High Quality' and 'Standard' PDF?
High Quality PDF uses 3x scaling technology for print-optimized crisp images. Standard PDF uses screen capture method - faster but may have lower resolution. High Quality PDF is recommended for printing.
Do I need to sign up or log in?
No, BaQord is completely free to use without registration or login. All features are immediately accessible.
